Mediumship never stops growing, developing and changing.

Amy’s Teaching Style

Amy is comfortable working with all levels of students, always tailoring her teaching to the level in front of her. With advanced students, she stretches every individual, while also providing deep support and expertise.

Amy brings specialized intuitive abilities to her teaching that students find extraordinarily helpful for learning. For one, she reads the energy of the connection — so she always knows whether or not there’s an actual mediumship connection being made.

She also knows who the connection is with, because she double-links with ease (connecting with the same spirit communicator a student is connecting with). This allows her to troubleshoot or explain any confusing or sensitive situations that arise during readings.

Amy’s same ability also extends to past readings she didn’t actually witness: she can track back and “see” what happened during the connection. With this skill, she’s helped many students process difficult practice experiences that would otherwise have remained not only unexplained, but damaging to their confidence.

At all times, Amy blends her keen mediumship knowledge with compassion and humor, in a down-to-earth communication style. Her students are inspired to continually reach for higher levels of proficiency, being in service of Spirit to the best of their ability.

“Always remain curious. Curiosity not only opens your mediumship — the Spirit World sees that curiosity and knows you’ll be more open to their way of communicating.”

Amy’s Story

As Amy grew up in a Catholic family based in the U.S. and Caribbean, she sensed things in a vivid way she couldn’t explain. As no one else seemed to understand her experiences, she assumed she just had an overactive imagination — not realizing she was a natural-born medium and psychic.

In college, she studied psychology, then found an unexpected passion for cooking. She trained at the acclaimed Johnson & Wales culinary institute, and then worked her way up through professional kitchens. Eventually, she regularly ran kitchen operations at scale, sometimes serving as many as 5,000 guests at a time. It was during those years that she began to understand her “overactive imagination” for what it actually was: intuition, psychic sensitivity, and a real connection with the Spirit World.

As she explored and developed her abilities, she realized the joy and healing the work could bring to so many people. She left the culinary world to devote herself fully to mediumship, going on to provide thousands of readings to clients across the U.S. and abroad. Along the way, she trained extensively with renowned medium Mavis Pittilla, Senior Tutor at Arthur Findlay College, and continues to be mentored by her Spirit guides.

In 2019, driven by a mission to raise the standards of the profession, Amy co-founded Whole Medium Academy with her spouse, Nancy Scheel — building a school to give beginner, advanced, and professional mediums the skill, integrity, and grounded practice the field needed.

Today, Amy volunteers regularly with Helping Parents Heal, donating gallery-style readings for bereaved parents and their children in Spirit.
