Nancy Scheel

Co-Founder | Instructor | Energy Psychology Practitioner

I see a student’s block as it’s happening — and I use a rich, cross-disciplinary toolset to help it shift.

Nancy’s Teaching Style

Nancy is always watching the whole room — and quickly notices when discomfort registers on a student’s face or in their posture. She checks in, sometimes privately, before that one moment spirals to derail their confidence or safety in the group.

During student practices, she draws on observation, intuition, and analysis together — the same coaching instincts she’s built over two decades — to offer feedback, a somatic technique, or a small but powerful daily practice to support skill development.

Very often, a student’s inner critical voice tells them, “You blew it!” Nancy then steps in to balance and highlight the reality: a hesitant spirit communicator, an unnoticed second communicator, a message the student didn’t yet trust — or something else entirely, outside their control.

Her style throughout is gentle, compassionate, and honest — always holding the person, always protecting the safety of the room.

“The critical voice isn’t the enemy — it’s a fierce self-protector. My job is to help students feel safe enough to work with it, not fight it, so they can try anything.”

Nancy’s Story

Nancy trained early as a professional violinist. But somewhere along the way, watching someone else grow started to matter more to her than the music. She first worked as an adult literacy teacher, then a corporate instructional and communications specialist. Later, she became a professional coach, and over two decades, she’s coached executives, career-changers, and people simply trying to build a life that fits.

Raised without religious beliefs, young Nancy was fascinated by the mythology of the original Star Wars trilogy — secretly wishing “the Force” might actually be a thing!  But it all went dormant until her 2004 coach training program cracked the door open to her own sense of spirituality.

In 2007, she met her partner, Amy Utsman. As Amy grew into a professional medium and Nancy explored energy medicine, they discovered, almost by accident, that their gifts were made to work together — something Amy’s grandmother had predicted years before. They also shared a deep concern over a perceived lack of ethics and professionalism in the mediumship field, where they’d seen too many developing mediums left ungrounded, unsupported, or out of their depth. In 2019, they co-founded Whole Medium Academy.

That same year, Nancy trained under Dr. Lynn Karjala to become certified in Comprehensive Energy Psychology, gaining Karjala’s concept of the “critical voice.” That training gave her the missing piece: real tools for helping intuitive students work with their blocks instead of being stopped by them.
